Preparation of Cotton Straw-Based Activated Carbon by Microwave Charring and Its Adsorption Characteristics on Ni2+

In this study, cotton stalks from Xinjiang Alar were used as raw materials. Preparation of modified straw-based activated carbon by microwave-assisted pyrolysis using H3PO4 activator. The effects different impregnation ratios, microwave power and irradiation time on the yield straw its adsorption performance Ni2+ in simulated wastewater investigated Lagergren’s quasi primary secondary kinetic equations. experimental results showed that was best under conditions 100 mL wastewater, mass concentration 30 mg/L, pH = 6.5, ratio 1.5, 600W 7 minutes, kinetics accordance with Lagergren quasi-secondary BET surface area total pore volume 1334 m2/g 0.918 m3/g, respectively, which 112 29 times higher than those direct carbon.
